Here's an eyewitness account of a bee swarm on June 9. Anybody else notice a lot of bees this summer?
I've never seen a swarm of bees before, and certainly not in Chanhassen, until this evening. At about 6:00pm, my wife Sandy and I were taking a stroll down Galpin Blvd. As we were passing by Long Acres sub development, we noticed a large swarm of bees, so much so that we couldn't decide which way to run to get out from under them. A jogger approching from the other directions took out lead and crossed over Galpin, away from Long Acres. Not the right decision since the swam was actually heading for the forest in Price's property. None of us were stung but it was awesome to see a tornado of bees. I question if this is natural or might these be an africanized hybrid?
