HISTORIC VOTE EXPECTED

HISTORIC VOTE EXPECTED TONIGHT

(Carver County GOP release)

For the first time that anyone can remember, tonight the grassroots Republicans in Carver County are poised to endorse candidates running for county office.

Carver County Republicans will join millions of ordinary Americans in calling to return the United States to the People. Republicans have long called for limited government operating at the local level where a watchful citizenry can best keep government accountable. Tonite's endorsement will help achieve this in Carver County by promoting candidates who commit to the original founding principles of the US Constitution. It will also expose candidates that do not adhere to these basic principles.

The Carver County Republican Special Endorsing Convention begins at 7 p.m. at the Norwood Young America Pavillion at 21 East Main Street.

The convention is made up of people who live in Senate District 34A and were elected as a delegate or alternates at the 2010 precinct caucuses.

For more information contact Frank Long, chair, at 612-202-8789.

The FBI on Tuesday afternoon

The FBI on Tuesday afternoon said that no known suspects have been identified in the attempted robbery, but they "are contemplating" if the perpetrators in Chanhassen are the same individuals responsible for the successful robbery of a Wells Fargo in the northern Hennepin County city of Champlin on Aug. 4.

This is the second attempted bank robbery in Chanhassen in just over a year. On July 23, 2009, a female suspect attempted to rob the TCF Bank in Cub Foods. The woman left with an undisclosed amount of cash that was loaded with a red dye, which activated when she reached the Cub Foods parking lot. A suspect in the case was identified but not charged.

Carver County Sheriff Byron

Carver County Sheriff Byron ‘Bud’ Olson reports that at approximately 6:43 AM on August 30th, 2010 the Office received a 9-1-1 call/report of an attempted armed robbery at the TCF Bank located at 900 78th ST W in the city of Chanhassen, MN.
Update:
Information from the Carver County Sheriff's Office:

Two black male suspects, armed and dressed in black, attempted to gain access to a rear door of the bank while an employee who was arriving for work, was entering the building. The bank door was secured before they were able to gain access and the two suspects ran from the scene. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified and with the assistance of Chaska Police Department and South Lake Police Department a perimeter was set up. The suspects were not located and due to the intensive search they are believed to have left the area. There were no injuries and the suspects did not obtain any money.

Carver County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident.

I am writing to provide

I am writing to provide current scientific information about Colony Collapse Disorder after reading “Pesticides have researchers buzzing,” in the July 29 edition. It is unfortunate this article claims pesticides to be a leading factor in CCD, when there is no evidence to support such a hypothesis. In fact, non-agricultural pesticides used in hedgerows, riparian buffers, rights-of-way and other naturalized areas near crops ensure the health and vitality of blooming plants that provide pollen and nectar forage for bees across the seasons. Pesticides also protect honey bees against harmful insect predators, including Varroa and Tracheal mites. Before the introduction of effective pesticides during the 1980s to control these deadly bee pests the only way to stop their spread was to destroy infested hives.
What are the causes of (Colony Collapse Disorder) CCD? Scientists do not yet know, but the direction of research is turning increasingly to a combination of factors with focus on parasitic mites and honey bee pathogens. Honey bee genetics, nutrition and apicultural practices also may play a role along with colony stress brought on by frequent transport of colonies within the U.S. To assume pesticides are the cause of CCD is a convenient, but erroneous conclusion. Pointing to pesticides as the definitive cause of a deeply complicated issue unwisely distracts from the important work of finding real solutions to CCD.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service began in June 2010 a survey to document which diseases, parasites or pests of honey bees are currently present in the U.S. The study objectives note the “most highly suspected cause of CCD is a potential immune-suppressing stress on bees, caused by one or a combination of several factors…. Stresses may include poor nutrition (due to apiary overcrowding, pollination of crops with low nutritional value, or reduced pollen or nectar), drought, and migratory stress brought about by the increased need to move bees long distances to provide pollination services.” Results of the survey will be available at the end of this year.
In the interests of correcting Dr. Krischik’s assertions, USDA reports “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires that companies provide data on a pesticide’s possible impact on nontarget organisms before a pesticide can be registered for use, and honey bees are usually one of the nontarget insects tested. The neonicotinoids [which include the compound imidacloprid] … did not harm bees at the levels to which they are likely to be exposed.” Further a new scientific study published February 15 by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety has also made it very clear that a multitude of factors, particularly the mite-induced disease varroasis, is responsible for the continuing bee mortality in parts of France. Further, the agency found: “No agricultural toxic origin could be attributed to the bee deaths observed.”
Thank you for the opportunity to bring clarity to this important and complex issue.

I made an edit to this sentence: Last year, a chair was stolen from the front of Fresh Season Market, but the chair was returned after information was circulated about its disappearance.

Any other editing tweaks you'd like? Feel free to chime in.

Politica is the one that

Politica is the one that needs to do some checking. Public records indicate Olson made over $90k last year and thats fact. Oh and do you think Olson would put anything other than stuff that looks good on his website? Seems politica a Olson fan and probably someone in his family. I went to the fair this week and did not see deputies supporting Olson. No one in Olsons tent but his wife. I didnt talk to Lee but talked to many cops that were wearing Lee shirts. That says alot to see no support for Olson by real cops. Seems like a bad deal to Chanhassen residents if Olson is put in charge of those who dont want him. Its a bad relationship before the first day on the job. But my letter is not to do with the campain but him going to a fire call. Lts and above are bureacrats in the sheriffs office and thats fact to. Last, english is one of three languages I speak. I started learning it when I was near 10 years old so cut the "sic" stuff. Do you make fun of people with accents to?

To Mr. Litsey: Thank you for your unwavering support of law enforcement during your tenure here in Chanhassen. When Carver County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jim Olson supported cutting the number of deputies patrolling Chanhassen, you stood up and voiced your opposition. Your voice of reason will be sorely missed.
