Carver County Commissioner Tom Workman, who represents Chanhassen, announced this week that he will be seeking re-election to the Carver County Board this fall.
“As can be said about all election years, I believe this to once again be a big one,” Workman said in a release. “I have been a member of the board for only five and a half years but I believe we have seen great positive changes over that time period. The rate of change and growth will continue to accelerate at a monumental pace in the coming years and I believe my experience will continue to serve well the taxpayers and residents of Carver County.
Prior to serving on the County Board, workman served 10 years in the Minnesota House of Representatives as a Republican and four years on the Chanhassen City Council.
“Despite tricky economic times nationwide, Carver County and her residents remain strong and optimistic about the future too,” he said. “Reasonable and defensible budgeting by the county ensures our residents are not burdened during tough times. I will continue to search for prudent spending as demand for services increases. Costs for public safety, social services, courts, public health and roads will be rising with our increased population. We can do it all and we can continue to do it well with our good people and strong leadership.”
The official filing period for local offices is in July.

Thankfully TOM is running...
Back to page topThankfully TOM is running again to continue a thankless job. We need Tom to keep the others in line, lest we lose all control over the Tax & Spend crowd. With so many people wanting so many things/services, it takes someone like Tom to differentiate between true needs and peoples wants and what the Law requires the County provide.
