Attempted bank robbery reported

The Carver County Sheriff's Office responded to an attempted bank robbery at TCF Bank in Chanhassen on Monday.

According to Sheriff Bud Olson, the incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. Displaying guns, two robbery suspects approached employees who were opening the bank. An employee prevented the suspects from entering the bank by securing the door, according to a Chanhassen Crime Alert.

Notice the Olson for Sheriff campaign signs that have been popping up around town.

He has been temporarily replaced, effective Monday, Aug. 16, by Sgt. Pete Anderley, who held the liaison position for about 17 months from mid-2007 to 2009. The Chanhassen City Council upgraded the liaison position from a Sgt. to a Lt. in 2009.
