Ortman disputes climate change warningsApril 26, 2008 - 8:24am — FAdamsMinnesota Senator Julianne Ortman (R-Chanhassen) got in on the climate change debate and had strong words for her frantic DFL counterpart on the senate floor. The DFL senator was claiming state legislators should do something to counteract climate change because she said children were afraid. Sen. Ortman said there's no need to be afraid because the science isn't settled. What are your opinions? In the video, Furlong discusses his relationship with Senator Coleman, the important role that Mayors play in the public policy process and the unique perspective Norm Coleman brings to the Senate as Minnesota’s Mayor in Washington.  Dan Ress's environmental science class at Chaska High School met with legislators after speaking at a hearing Tuesday about Seminary Fen, which is on a possible route for a new river crossing bridge. The class is monitoring Assumption Creek, a trout stream that runs through the fen. Also pictured is Rep. Joe Hoppe, R-Chaska, left, and committee chairman Rep. Rick Hansen, DFL-South St. Paul. Pictures from the tax cut rallyApril 12, 2008 - 7:31pm — FAdams Thousands gathered Saturday at high noon at the steps of the State Capitol building for the annual tax cut rally. Click on the attached sound file to hear Rep. Michele Bachmann speak and radio talk host Chris Baker wish she could be cloned. Vince Beaudette, Victoria, a member of the Carver County Republican Party, said this was one of several tax cut rallies he has attended at the capitol over the years. Click on the attached sound file to hear his thoughts about becoming politically active.  Access to the stage was difficult. The message was loud and clear, broadcasted over loud speakers.
