Send an Obit to the Editor

You are welcome to submit an obituary to appear in the newspaper and on its web site.

Additional information may be published but it carries a fee. A picture of the deceased is also accepted with longer, paid obituaries; please submit in .jpg or .tif formats and be sure the file is less than 4 megabytes in size.

Basic information can be published free of charge: name of the deceased, their age, where they are from, when and where they died, and funeral arrangements--including the name of the funeral home.

Resident's Guide We publish an annual Resident’s Guide for each of our communities. It’s a tremendous source of local information – containing lists of services, names of organizations, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and much more. Keep it handy; use it often. Print Edition Southwest Newspapers’ weekly community papers have histories that go as far back as the Civil War era. Several were started from scratch as our communities began to grow in the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s. These popular newspapers routinely win awards of excellence from organizations like the Minnesota Newspaper Association.
