Catch o' the day
Photo by Richard Crawford Frank Timpone, of Minneapolis, proudly displays a sunfish he reeled in during Saturday's Feb Fest ice fishing contest on Lake Ann. Relatively mild temperatures drew a large crowd to the lake and Chanhassen Park and Recreation Director Todd Hoffman said fish were being caught at a good clip. Feb Fest events this Saturday
The first community event of the year, February Festival, is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5. Each year the festival, now in its 18th year, attracts over 1,000 people onto Lake Inn for the afternoon. Gasoline prices dip for the week; 57 cents higher than year ago
Average retail gasoline prices in Twin Cities have fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.14/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.08/g, according to gasoline price website TwinCitiesGasPrices.com. New Germany man sentenced in firearm case
Carver County Attorney Mark Metz announced Jan. 31 that Matthew Garrett Shupe-Botner, 20, of New Germany, was sentenced to 60 months in prison by Judge Philip T.
