Movie review: 'Fright Night'
by Jeffrey Ray
'Fright Night' (R) Three and a half stars (of 5) Although the original “Fright Night” was very cheesy its balance of humor and scares made it entertaining. 2011’s “Fright Night” remake takes the basic storyline and modernizes it, just as “Disturbia” modernized “Rear Window.” Apart from the fact that the story is still the same, the plot changes quite a bit. In fact, the first part of 2011’s “Fright Night” has more in common with “Disturbia” ...

The Chanhassen City Council, by a vote of 4 to 1, approved a preliminary levy of about $10.2 million. The final levy, which will be set in December, can be lower but not higher than the preliminary figure. While the average homeowner shouldn’t see an increase in city taxes,...

by Unsie Zuege
PHOTO BY UNSIE ZUEGE While we don’t usually cover ribbon-cuttings, we did agree that in a depressed housing market, the City of Victoria has a reason to break out the ribbon and scissors. This summer, the city got good news. A housing needs study indicates the city has a potential demand for 225 new housing units between 2012 and 2015. Pictured is a new townhome unit in Madelyn Creek.
